One of the main goals of my Game Plan was to find ways to implement types of technology into my physical education classes and to find possible alternatives to cover the cost of certain types of new technology that must be purchased. I have found mass amounts of information about implementing various types of technology into physical education that encourages participation and increases levels of physical activity. Things such as the Wii and DDR are being used successfully in most every state in the country. I have found many websites with specific lesson plans using this very type of technology. Finding new technology for me to use has not been a problem. The major problem I have discovered is related to the funding for these items. They are expensive and not a priority for schools that are in financial distress. I have learned there are certain grants available, but I have no experience with this process. If I do not quickly get assistance from colleagues or other people regarding grant writing, I will definitely have to alter this part of my GAME Plan.
The second goal of my GAME Plan was to model digital-age work and learning. I have found many websites that have given me new ideas, strategies, and lesson plans that will enable me to fullfill this goal. There are also fellow physical education teachers in this course that have provided positive feedback and shared ideas they currently have. There will be more questions to arise, but so far so good.

Carrying Out My GAME Plan
In order to carry out my Game Plan, I am discovering that it is not going to be an easy process. My goals are to incorporate the use of technological tools into my physical educational classes that hopefully will motivate all students and increase levels of participation and physical activity. Some of the resources I have found that I am interested in using are the Wii Fit, DDR, and new phone APPS that can be used to monitor heart rate. There are obvious obstacles that I am facing that will make this task difficult. The major obstacle is obviously, financial. Funding for the types of technology I hope to use is not easy to come by. Other resources I will need to carry out my plan are finding colleagues in other schools systems that are effectively implementing these types of technology.
So far, I have found several physical education websites and blogs related to this very topic. I have also discovered there are possible grants available that could possibly help purchase some of the technology I hope to incorporate. Hopefully, I will receive responses to this blog post that will add insight to what I hope to accomplish.

Developing My GAME Plan
After reviewing the National Education Standards for Teachers(NETS-T), there are two indicators that I have chosen to focus on and set goals in order to become a more effective teacher. The first standard I have chosen to incorporate into my GAME Plan is standard two.
NETS-T
2. Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to decelop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the NETS-T:
a. degign or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity
Being a physical education teacher places some limits on incorporating different types of technological tools into lessons, but there are forms of technology available today that make it possible for me to incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning. My goals are to incorporate the use of technological tools into my physical education classes that hopefully will motivate all students and increase levels of participation in physical activity. The action that must be taken in order to reach this goal will require me to not only find what technology is available, but also to find ways to cover the expense of acquiring this technology. I believe there are two ways to monitor the progress toward achieving these goals. The first is to find possible grants or donors that can make it possible for technology to be purchased. The second way is by observing students once these certain tools are implemented. Evaluating whether these goals were achieved is probably the easiest of the four steps in the GAME Plan. Were technological tools implemented, and did levels of student participation increase?
The second standard I have chosen to focus on is standard 3.
NETS-T
3. Model Digital-Age Work and Learning
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in the global and digital society. Teachers:
a. demonstrate fluency in technological systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
My objective for strengthening my confidence and proficiency for this standard is the same as that of standard two. The objective being to find ways to incorporate technology into physical education classes. My goal for this particular standard is to increase my knowledge of technology that is available for me to use with my students. The actions I will take to achieve this goal is to find other teachers who are implementing these types of technology in the same setting I would be. I will monitor my progress by the feedback received by those who are contacted about the effectiveness of using these tools and possible ways these tools can be acquired. Knowing it will not be easy to receive funds for technology (toys) for physical education classes, I will evaluate at the end of the year whether it can be possible to obtain funding for these technological tools, and determine how beneficial they actually are.
